Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statem

The Journal of Research Education Mamminasata is a peer-reviewed electronic journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. To ensure the quality of research and the integrity of the academic record, all parties—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must adhere to the following ethical guidelines based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  1. Ethical Expectations for Authors
    • Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If the work of others is used, it must be appropriately cited. Plagiarism in any form (including self-plagiarism) is strictly prohibited.
    • Data Integrity: Authors should present an accurate account of the research performed. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.
    • Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical. The manuscript must not have been published elsewhere.
    • Authorship Credit: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the study. All contributors must be listed as co-authors, and the corresponding author must ensure all co-authors have approved the final version for publication.
    • Ethics in Education Research: Since this journal focuses on education, authors must ensure that research involving human subjects (students, teachers, etc.) complies with ethical standards, including informed consent and the protection of participant anonymity.
  1. Ethical Expectations for Editors
    • Fairness and Independence: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on their intellectual merit and relevance to the journal's scope, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religious belief, or institutional affiliation.
    • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and potential reviewers.
    • Conflict of Interest: Editors shall recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors.
    • Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles will be published based on the peer review reports and editorial board consultations.
  1. Ethical Expectations for Reviewers
    • Contribution to Decisions: Peer reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their papers through constructive feedback.
    • Confidentiality: Any manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. It must not be shared or discussed with others without permission from the editor.
    • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
    • Promptness: If a reviewer feels unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot complete the review within the deadline, they must notify the editor immediately.
  1. Handling Research Misconduct
    • Detection of Plagiarism: Journal of Research Education Mamminasata uses similarity check software (e.g., Turnitin) to detect plagiarism. If plagiarism is identified, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.
    • Reporting Misconduct: The editorial board will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred.
    • Corrections and Retractions: If errors or misconduct are discovered after publication, the journal will issue a formal correction, clarification, or retraction as necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
